After a season of fighting through obstacles & injuries, County Cheer arrived in Florida ready to perform.
Prelim nerves got the best of the team and so did the deduction sheet, resulting in a low score for the girls. Fortunately the scores fell in favor for the Huskies and they got through to Semi-Finals.
In semis, it was do or die. Hit or go home. Each athlete stepped up and said we are not ending this season today. They wanted Finals. So they earned finals with an incredible hit.
On Sunday, with the rough performances of State and Nationals Finals in 2019 still on their minds, the mental toughness was flowing and County Cheer was unstoppable in front of the castle in HP Field House. Hit zero! It was enough to put County Cheer on the podium, earning a bronze medal and taking home 3rd Place in Small Varsity Division I.

The ladies of County Cheer were hungry all season to make a statement. At UCA Nationals, they did just that in the first round of competition! Due to Division 1 Small Varsity being such a competitive and crowded division, the preliminary round is broken into 3 Groups. The top scoring team from each group gets to bypass semi-finals to earn a spot directly in finals. County Cheer, Los Alamitos High School, and Boone County High School were the three teams to accomplish that! Watch the girls' reaction on Facebook.
Finals on Sunday wasn't the smoothest performance in terms of a hit, but there were definitely positives as County Cheer had one of the highest stunt difficulty scores and highest cheer scores across both rounds of competition.

County Cheer qualified for the 2018 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in October 2017 at the UCA Southern Colorado Regional in Pueblo, CO. The Huskies will competed in the Small Varsity Division I category while down at Nationals in Orlando, Florida. The Small Varsity category is the most competitive and the largest at the NHSCC event and we are proud to say that County Cheer stayed right there with the best of the best.
County Cheer competed bright and early in Prelims, then later that same night for Semi-Finals in hopes of landing a coveted spot in Finals. Wowing the crowd and judges with a rockin' Semi-Final performance, the Huskies landed at Finals in the HP Field House.
With a nearly perfect performance in Finals, County Cheer earned themselves 18th in the Nation!
