When do we practice?
Swim team practices are every day after school, at the Castle Rock Rec Center, from 3:30 to 5:00pm. Dive team practices are in the evening from 7:30 to 9:00pm during the girls season, and 3:30 to 5:00pm during the boys season.
What about morning swim practices?
Morning practices run from 5:00 to 6:30am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We encourage our A-League qualifying swimmers to attend all our morning practices. The practices are not required, but offer a great opportunity for swimmers to keep improving.
When do we have meets?
Our dual meets are normally Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays after school. We also have Invitationals throughout the season that are scheduled on Saturdays.
Will transportation be provided for the athletes to the meets?
In the past we have taken busses to away dual meets we would have during the week. This is no longer a cost appropriate option for our team. Along with the excessive coast of taking a bus, the district bus availability is very slim and conflicts with our needed transportation time. As a team, we will work together to help teammates entered in away meets find the transportation they need through carpools.
Are there tryouts for making Varsity?
There are no tryouts. Varsity/JV teams are never set in stone. Swimmers and Divers are entered in to Varsity or JV events during meets. There may athletes who are always entered in Varsity events, or always entered in to JV events, but for most of the team it will vary how often they are entered in Varsity or JV events.

Is everyone required to do the swim camp?
No, no one is required to do the swim camp. I think it is catered more towards building some more team unity and gives us an opportunity to get in the water as a co-ed team. We will have enough lanes to give anyone who comes some quality stroke work and practice time. Swimmers who sign up for the camp are also not required to come to the camp every day.
What do you require for team gear?
For practice gear, we want the athletes to have a practice suit, swim cap, goggles, and their own pair of fins with them each day.
For team apparel, we ask all athletes to buy is a team suit. Out of Breath will be at our parent meeting at the beginning of each season. Everyone will receive a team shirt, and the team covers the coast of the team shirt for the girls.
